Hildebrandt [1764-1816], professor of anatomy in the Anatomical and Surgical Institute at Braunschweig in 1785. He transferred to the University of Erlangen in 1793 as professor of medicine, where he later also became professor of chemistry (1796)and physics (1799).
He contributed largely to scientific periodical literature, and wrote several works on medicine, his Textbook of Anatomy being regarded as a classic in its day.
