Item offered is Cesi's L'Anatomia together with an incomplete copy of Preissler's book on the principles of drawing in four parts (1778-89). 2 volumes, contemporary half calf.

 Seventh edition, edited by Johann Daniel Preissler [1666-1737].
An artistic anatomy based on Vesalian drawings. It contains sixteen engraved plates, two skeletons and fourteen myologic plates, among them five complete muscle-manikins.
Preface is signed by Preissler, March 14th, 1743.
Originally issued at Rome 1679 and 1697, under title: Cognizione de' muscoli del corpo umano per uso del disegni and Anatomia dei pittori. Cognizione dei muscoli del corpo umano per il disigno respectively.
First German edition 1706.
