Allvar Gullstrand [1862-1930], Professor of Physical and Physiological Optics, made investigations in the fields of geometric and physiological optics.
The present paper, Bidrag till Astigmatismens Teori (Contribution to the theory of astigmatism) published in 1890, forms the basis of his theory.
He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1911.
