First edition. A manual of methods of medico-mechanical gymnastics.

Emil Wilhelm Zander, M.D., the son of Gustaf Zander,  Swedish physician and from 1897 director of the Mechanico-Therapeutic Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.
The Zander Institute gained widespread fame at the end of the 19th century because of its therapeutic value of gymnastics and sports, and the application of steam power to mechano-therapy. The Zander's Institute devices were so popular, and their application to the gymnastic movement so widely accepted, that Zander Institutes were opened throughout Europe and the United States.
